Rochelle Canteen Arnold Circus, E2 (tasty grub from this cooking school. Weekdays only)

Boundary, 2-4 Boundary St, E2 (top notch restaurant with superb roof terrace - perfect place for summer)
Da Polpo, 6 Maiden Lane, WC2 (best of the Polpo genius. Sharing plates & wine carafe heaven) 
Dach & Sons 68 Heath St, NW3 (sliders, dogs, beer & bourbon. Lucky Hampstead)
Elliot's Cafe, Borough Market, SE1 (sharing plates of delicious fresh fare, all day)

Zucca, 184 Bermondsey St, SE1 (could this be the best Italian in town...?)
Wapping Project, Wapping Wall, E1 (top cuisine, art installations & greenhouse bookshop)
Pizza East, Shoreditch, E2 & Portobello Rd, W11 (warehouse chic and excellent pizzas)

The Folly, 41 Gracechurch St, EC3 (huge, fun bar/restaurant/cafe/shop with cool decor. Best at weekend)
Bleeding Heart, off Greville St, EC1 (excellent bistro & restaurant tucked away in Farringdon)
Sketch, 9 Conduit St, W1 (Very cool bar/restaurant. Afternoon tea in the parlour. Best loos in town!)
Buona Sera at The Jam, 289 Kings Road, SW3 (bunk-bed style tables. Italian grub in fun setting. No website!)
Tiroler Hut, 27 Westbourne Grove, W2 (well established Austrian, complete with lederhosen. Feels like apres-ski)
The Orange, 37 Pimlico Rd, SW1 (lovely rustic bar/restaurant, good food and a 3 room hotel!) 
Brawn, 49 Columbia Rd, E2 (meat lovers paradise. Bag yourself some lovely flowers whilst you're there)
Serpentine Bar & Kitchen, Hyde Park, W2 (perfect park retreat - good eats overlooking park and Serpentine)
Hawksmoor, various locations (for a steak like no other, you have to go to Hawksmoor!)
Oslo Court, cnr Prince Albert Rd & Charlbert St, NW8 (1970s decor and a menu to match. No website)
Cheyne Walk Brasserie, 50 Cheyne Walk, SW3 (my favourite place in Chelsea!)
Jose, Bermondsey St, SE1 (fabulous tapas and sherry bar on trendy Bermondsey St)
The Waterway, 54 Formosa St, W9 (perfect spot for al fresco dining by the canal in Little Venice)
Maggie Jones, 6 Old Court Place, W8 (cosy & rustic)
Brunswick House Cafe, 30 Wandsworth Rd, SW8 (quirky eaterie surrounded by antiques for sale)
Bob Bob Ricard, 1 Upper James Street, W1 (decadent English & Russian menu with a 'Press for Champagne' button)
Les Trois Garcons, 1 Club Row, E1 (flamboyant interior and excellent food. Pop to Lounge Lover for cocktail first)
Chiswell Street Dining Rooms, 56 Chiswell St, EC1 (top spot in Barbican - great food)
Bistrotheque, 23 Wadeson Street, E2 (perfect spot for brunch, dinner & cabaret)
Viajante, Patriot Square, E2 (pricey but excellent tasting menu from the legendary Nuno Mendes
Pollen Street Social, 8 Pollen St, W1 (Jason Atherton's fab contemporary bistro)
Burger & Lobster, 29 Clarges St, W1, Dean St, W1 & soon to open in Farringdon (just burgers & lobsters)
Meat Liquor, 74 Welbeck St, W1 (Meateasy has grown up to a proper restaurant. Best burgers in town!)

The Duke of Sussex, 75 South Parade, W4 (nicest pub in Chiswick with great bar and beer garden)

The Grenadier, Wilton Row, SW1 (very old and does sausage on a stick) 
The George, Borough High St, SE1 (one of London's only galleried pubs)
The Dove, Upper Mall, SW6 (gorgeous riverside pub with a tiny wee bar) 
The Three Kings,  7 Clerkenwell Close, EC1 (perfect little boozer, full of character, on a quiet little lane)
Bart's Bar, Sloane Ave, SW3 (secret speakeasy. Read blog here) 
The Scarsdale, Edwardes Square, W8 (proper cosy Kensington pub) 
Purl Bar, 50 Blandford St, W1 (discreet gem with crazy cocktails) 
The White Horse, Parson's Green, SW6 (a Fulham institution)
The Spaniards, Spaniards Road, NW3 (gorgeous pub by Hampstead Heath, but feels like the countryside)
Jerusalem Tavern, 55 Britton St, EC1 (dating from 1720 this is one of the oldest and finest pubs in London)
Ye Olde Mitre, 1 Ely Court, EC1 (Hidden down a tiny alleyway, this pub is a gem and one of London's oldest)
The Hawley Arms,  2 Castlehaven Rd, NW1 (fab Camden boozer with roof terrace right next to market)
The Cow, 89 Westbourne Park Rd, W2 (a West London institution - you simply have to go)
